British Science Week 2024

The NAME team at University of Manchester collaborated with the PSI to deliver two days filled with science around new nanoscale advanced materials and light during British Science Week at the Manchester Museum. The stall included microscopes of common materials to our gold micro dinos, LEGO AFM as well as sound to light demonstration and spectral H2 tubes to demonstrate quantisation. Over the 2 days, we interacted with over 250 people, from secondary school visits to families from the local area. Being part of the Royce “materials passport”, there was discussions around how our materials were different to the others on the passport, and schoolteachers were engaged and asked for more information.
