NAME collaboration sees molecules up close
Dr Tim Moorsom, along with his collaborators Prof Donald MacLaren and Mairi McCauley, took materials from the NAME grant to SuperSTEM, the UK’s national electron microscopy facility. Thanks to the world-beating materials growth and sample preparation capability accessible through the NAME Programme, they were able to image plasmon excitations on individual molecules. This level of clarity is extremely hard to obtain in hybrid materials, and has never been obtained before in such a material. Their work is currently under review and is available in pre-print: DOI: 10.48550/arXiv.2410.23983
