Community Day

The NAME team joined forces with the Photon Science Institute to provide story time at the University of Manchester Community Day, falling this year within the 200-year bicentennial celebrations during the universally Manchester festival. With a corner of MECD, filled with bean bags, we sat down with the festival goers and told stories of Izzie’s Quantum World, Rosie Revere the Engineer, Isabelle and the invisible, and more. With demos connected with each story, such as LEGO AFM, microscopes, and question tellers, to get the audience asking those science questions not just to use but to the entire festival. With hundreds of people engaged, it was a great way to get some outreach experience to our team before we head to the Royal Society in July.
